What size is an Instagram post?
Square posts are 1080×1080 (1:1), portrait posts are 1080×1350 (4:5), and landscape posts are 1080×566 (1.91:1). Portrait takes up the most feed space, so most creators default to 1080×1350.
What size are Instagram Stories and Reels?
1080×1920 pixels (9:16), full screen on mobile. Keep text away from the top and bottom 250 pixels where the UI overlays sit.
Will resizing crop my photo?
You choose: "Crop to fill" trims edges to fill the exact size, "Fit with background" keeps the whole photo and pads the rest, and "Stretch" distorts to fit. Crop to fill is the default.
